I am very blessed with a mop of naturally curly hair and like all things in life it comes with its own challenges. The curls are springy until they reach a certain length. At this point the weight of the “hanging” hair applies enough drag that the tension in the curl gives and the hair straightens ever so slightly.
This can honestly happen overnight – one day I will be able to see the next day my hair appears over half an inch longer.
Now I can’t really claim this is a surprise because I was aware that my hair was getting longer – I should have reacted and booked an appointment at the hair dressers. So now as I hit desperation – can the hairdresser cancel all his appointments to fit me in – of course not!
That’s when the call of the scissors becomes over whelming.
I must cut my hair myself at least 3 or 4 times a year …. Sometimes it works out and other times (like the stepped sides period) it doesn’t. Cutting just the right amount to ensure vision but not too much to result in a tight halo fringe is crucial (for me, the hair dresser and the sanity of passer-by’s).
That’s why planning and having the right team for the job is crucial – yes you can do things yourself, like book keeping, managing your own properties, doing household maintenance, heavens above even cleaning! Why not plan, think about the time you are saving – not to mention heart ache, hassle and stress and just find the right people that will save you time and money in the long run
I have recently had a brilliant meeting with Liam Wall of Bear Space – my new accountant and financial advisors and Karin Von Arx my book keeper. They clearly understood what I want to achieve, they made professional and excellent suggestions – in reality they sorted out what I need to do to grow my business and then told me 🙂
Getting the right team, ensuring lines of communication are clear along with objectives will not only save you money but actually grow your business too.
